Why Jesy Nelson Stepped Away from Music and What She Said About Returning
Jesy’s own comments about music in 2026, the difference between a pause and retirement, and where her public work is focused now.

Music is not her current priority
In interviews and in the final episode of Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix, Jesy explained that she had stepped away from music. Her immediate focus was caring for her daughters and raising awareness of SMA. She did not announce a new single, album or release schedule during 2026.
That position followed several years of an independent solo career. Boyz arrived in 2021, Bad Thing in 2023 and the Zion Foster collaboration Mine in 2024. No solo album or EP had been released by 27 September 2026.
A pause is not the same as a formal retirement
Some headlines described the comments as a permanent exit. Jesy’s wording was more nuanced. She said she did not currently think she would return, while also leaving open the possibility that life could change. The accurate description is that she stepped back from music for an indefinite period.
Her public work did continue. In 2026 she appeared in two Prime Video productions, gave interviews about her family and became closely associated with the campaign for newborn SMA screening.
Her released catalogue remains available
Jesy’s official artist profiles continue to list Boyz, Bad Thing and Mine. The videos for Boyz and Bad Thing remain on her official YouTube channel, alongside the acoustic performance and behind-the-scenes film for Bad Thing.
Until Jesy announces new music directly, claims about an album, comeback single or release date should be treated as unconfirmed. Her verified platforms remain the best place to check for any future change.
