The Little Mix years

Little Mix won The X Factor in December 2011 and quickly moved into a recording career. Jesy’s vocals and performance style became part of the group’s identity across six albums and major tours.

Official Charts lists five UK number-one singles recorded during Jesy’s period with the group: Cannonball, Wings, Black Magic, Shout Out to My Ex and Sweet Melody. Sweet Melody reached number one in January 2021 after Jesy had announced her departure, but she appears on the recording and video.

Documentary work

Odd One Out was a major change in how Jesy used television. The film moved away from promotion and addressed the personal consequences of becoming famous during the rise of social media.

In 2026, Life After Little Mix revisited the full career arc in a six-part format. Life Changing then documented the period after her daughters’ SMA diagnosis and the campaign for newborn screening.

The solo catalogue

Boyz, released in October 2021, remains Jesy’s highest-charting solo single in the UK. Bad Thing followed in April 2023 as an independent release, supported by a music video developed with Women’s Aid. Mine, with Zion Foster, was released in August 2024.

Public campaigning

Jesy’s 2026 work shifted toward health advocacy. She backed a petition, spoke to broadcasters, participated in parliamentary discussion through her public campaign and used documentary film to explain why early SMA diagnosis matters.

By September 2026, her public activity was centred on her daughters and newborn screening. She had not announced a permanent retirement from music, but she had not announced a new release either.
